Remastered Berlin Brats Album Now Available

Ratchet Blade Records has released a newly remastered version of the Berlin Brats’ Believe It Or Rot: 1973-1976. It the first (and only) album of the band, which had been christened in the 1970’s as Los Angeles’ answer to the Rolling Stones and New York Dolls. It is also the first band of the Mau Maus’ Rick Wilder, the arrival of punk rock having caused the band’s break up. Bill Bateman and the Return of the Red Devils

Doghouse Lords’ drummer Bill Bateman has traveled to Europe for the return of the Red Devils, with Big Pete van der Pluijm replacing the late Lester Butler on vocals. Long in the works, a summer European tour opening for ZZ Top (as well as several headlining club gigs) starts July 6th, 2017.

 


Mather Louth and Phantom of the Black Hills Collaboration

The Heathen Apostles’ Mather Louth is appearing on the new Phantom of the Black Hills album Scalped, out 8/25/17 on Ratchet Blade Records. She sings on Wild Witch of the West, the first single from the record and will also appear in the music video. Chopper Franklin is producing, check back for more details, including the release date.

Pre-Production Begins For Heathen Apostles’ “Strange Flowers” Video

Pre-production has begun for the new video for the upcoming Heathen Apostles single Strange Flowers, on Ratchet Blade Records. The video will be directed by the band and will be shot over two weeks in April, check back for a release date for both the video and single.

Doghouse Lords in “Cry Now” – Movie Premiere 2/22/17

The Doghouse Lords are featured in the film Cry Now, which will having it’s premiere at Laemelle’s NoHo 7 in North Hollywood, Ca. on February 22nd at 7:30pm. The Doghouse Lords (Javier Matos, Chopper Franklin, John Bazz and Bill Bateman) play .44 Gun and Voodoo Lucy in the club scene. Click HERE for ticket info.


“Doghouse Lords” Rare Live Appearance

Chopper Franklin sat in with the Blue Shadows (Javier Matos, John Bazz and Bill Bateman) at their record release show at Viva Cantina Saturday (effectively making it the Doghouse Lords for three songs). They played .44 Gun, Georgia Chain Gang and HUD, watch a fan video of Georgia Chain Gang below.


Video Shoot For Heathen Apostles “Albatross” Single

The video shoot for the promo video for the upcoming Heathen Apostles single Albatross has wrapped, it was shot in sea caves up the California coast and also features underwater video. The Albatross single will be out on Friday December 9th on Ratchet Blade Records.

Due to the bankruptcy of Allegro Media Corp (parent company of Nail Distribution), Ratchet Blade Records has joined forces with MVD Entertainment Group, one of the leading companies in independent ditribution. MVD has handled Ratchet Blade’s international distribution so the transition to domestic distro will be seamless. The video shoots for both of the Heathen Apostles’ Misery and Gin music videos (teaser and full length) have wrapped, and a gallery of behind-the-scene photos has been uploaded. Heathen Apostles’ “Requiem For A Remix” Release Weekend A Wrap

The release weekend for the new Heathen Apostles remix album Requiem For A Remix went insanely well as was hoped. Thursday saw the release of the Requiem promo video (watch it HERE), Friday evening included an appearance on 88.9 KXLU’s Stella Stray Pop show followed by a visit to DJ Meikee Magnetic at The Happy Haus night. The weekend capped off with the Heathens playing Bar Sinister in Hollywood, thanks to all that tuned in, rocked out and have been supporting the Heathen Apostles throughout the years. Heathen Apostles’ “Fool’s Gold” Video BTS Shots

Here are some behind-the-scenes photos from the Heathen Apostles video for the upcoming single Fool’s Gold (both the single and video are due 6/16/15 on Ratchet Blade Records), they were shot by the video’s director of photography Larry Drayton. Chopper is back from Europe (where he was touring with the 69 Cats) so post production and editing has begun.

“Vincent and Luzy” Film Now Titled “Cry Now”

Vincent and Luzy, the Alberto Barboza film the Doghouse Lords performed live in, and singer Javier Matos acted in, has undergone another name change. It is now titled Cry Now, and American Quarterly Journal says “Cry Now is Alberto Barboza’s deeply romantic, Chicano rockabilly ode to artistic practice set in Boyle Heights…”
